Kandyan dance style brings together the mastery of rhythmic movement, precision of posture and placement and balance and alignment of the body. ‘Vannam’ is the main manifestation of the Kandyan dance style, which is widely used in dance performance. ‘Vannam’ recreates the distinct mien and moves of animals, both mythical and real, and a few lore associated with gods and the bodhisattva.
