D ays after Tennessee Titans quarterback Cameron Ward was involved in a skirmish during training camp with star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, the No. 1 overall pick from the 2025 NFL Draft opened up about the incident. Ward said the scuffle was "needed" and clarified that everything was good between the two.

With Emerson out for the year, there will be plenty of pressure on Ward and his fellow cornerback, Greg Newsome, to perform. Newsome, a first-round pick out of Northwestern in 2021, missed four games a year ago, finishing the season with 27 tackles, an interception and five pass breakups.
