Jurors late Wednesday found Nicholas Rossi guilty of rape, a first-degree felony, just two days after his trial started in Salt Lake City. Sentencing is set for Oct. 20.

Nicholas Rossi, the man who allegedly faked his death and left the country after facing rape charges, was convicted by a jury that heard the testimony of his ex-fiancée.

An American fugitive who faked his death and fled to Scotland to escape justice has been found guilty of rape in the United States. Nicholas Rossi, who appeared in court under his other name, Nicholas Alahverdian, had denied all charges.
