On Aug. 14 at 5 p.m., the Horn Fire, burning between Cliff Lake and U.S. Highway 87 in Madison County, triggered evacuation orders for residents east of U.S. Highway 87 and south of U.S. Highway 287.

PLAINS — The Knowles fire burning east of Plains has grown to 2,000 acres with 0 percent containment. The fire is actively burning in the Knowles drainage and the on the ridge above Knowles Creek.

The McCallister Fire continues to burn three miles north of Ennis Lake, having already scorched more than 3,500 acres.
