New information has surfaced regarding the circumstances surrounding Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross’s decision to fire head coach Mike McDaniel. According to tight end Darren Waller, McDaniel’s dismissal occurred during what was supposed to be Waller’s end-of-season exit interview with the coach.
The Detroit Lions reportedly are eyeing veteran coordinators and former head coaches for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Waller says that he was in the middle of his exit meeting with McDaniel last Thursday when Ross walked in the door. There was a brief conversation and then Waller realized something was up, as he recalled to Manziel, "I was at the scene of the crime, bro. I think I was the last person that saw him before he got fired."
