The Devils have huge expectations for this year, but GM Tom Fitzgerald has reason to believe, especially with Jack and Luke Hughes locked into contracts.

Jack, a forward, and Luke, a defenseman, have launched “Hughes Brothers' Pucks & Pages,” a multi-year reading program to promote literacy among New Jersey’s youth. The initiative was developed in partnership with JAG Physical Therapy and Hockey in New Jersey.

New Jersey Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald responded to Jack Hughes’ recent comments about wanting to play with his brother, Quinn Hughes, in the NHL. Quinn is in fifth year of his six-year $47.

Jack Hughes is a helluva player, and he’s got six goals in six games, including two spectacular ones against the Oilers. But as the Edmonton Journal’s Jim Matheson responded to Herman’s on-line comment: “Better than Draisaitl? A four-time 50 goal scorer, scoring champ and Hart winner. Put that Jersey Devils jersey back in closet.”
