Much like the majority of her Fever teammates, Powers has had to leave Indiana for the WNBA offseason. It’s common practice for players to play abroad in between seasons, and this was the case again for Powers, who has vast experience playing overseas throughout her career as a professional basketball player.

The Michigan State Spartans face the No. 3 Indiana Hoosiers, led by quarterback Fernando Mendoza, on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.

Fernando Mendoza completed 24 of 28 passes for 332 yards and four touchdowns and No. 3 Indiana celebrated its highest ranking in program history with a 38-13 rout of Michigan State.

Michigan State scored on its opening two possessions and had a pair of first-half leads but couldn’t stop the high-powered Hoosiers. Indiana reached the end zone on its first five possessions while scoring 31 straight points and finishing the game without punting.

Four men were charged in the murder of a 19-year-old man and the attempted murder of another teen in Gary, Indiana. Gary police said Samuel Shelhart, Antonio D. Brown, Derrick Nicholson, and Damarion Crossley are facing charges including murder, aggravated battery, attempted murder, and resisting law enforcement.
