The results are in for Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District. DFL candidate Kelly Morrison has defeated Republican Tad Jude to win Minnesota's only open Congressional seat. It was a race that was notable for its lack of vitriol compared to other races around the state and nation.

The seat was open after Rep. Dean Phillips decided not to run for reelection was he pursued a presidential run.

Longtime former Republican state legislator, former county commissioner and retired judge Tad Jude is running against doctor and current DFL state senator Kelly Morrison in the 3rd District race, which encompasses a large portion of Hennepin County outside of Minneapolis,
