Rush will play its first area concert in more than 10 years when the Canadian rock band performs at Little Caesars Arena on Aug. 26, the band's reps announced Monday. Tickets for the show go on sale at noon on Oct. 31, and pre-sales start at noon Oct. 27. Sign-up for artist pre-sale is open now and closes Thursday.

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will be joined by drummer Anika Nilles for Rush's first Michigan concert since the 2020 death of Neil Peart.

Protests were expected to run throughout the day Oct. 18 in Michigan in places as far as the Upper Peninsula as well as in Grand Rapids and in metro Detroit.

A 28-year-old man is dead after a crash on Southfield Freeway in Detroit on Friday night. Michigan State Police said troopers responded to the crash on the freeway near Schoolcraft Road on the city's west side around 9:40 p.m. They found a motorist, later identified as the man, trapped in a vehicle in the left lane.

A Detroit man apparently had been drinking before he fell from a dock and into Lake St. Clair, where he drowned, New Baltimore police said Monday. Authorities identified the victim as Demari Dior Morgan, 27. He was visiting friends and family who had rented an Airbnb rental residence near the lake for the weekend.

More people registered this year for the full weekend of races and challenges, although the wet conditions likely kept some at home on Sunday.

Hunter House Hamburgers, a beloved Birmingham, Michigan, burger shack, is leaving the place where everything started in 1952, but it is not gone for good. The restaurant will be moving its flagship location just a short drive down Woodward Avenue. The spot is currently a Kentucky Fried Chicken at the corner of Woodward and Lincoln.
