Canada forward Jonathan David scored in his Serie A debut to set Juventus on the way to a 2-0 win over Parma in their season opener on Sunday. David joined Juventus in July on a free transfer after his five-year contract at Lille expired.

Juventus opened their Serie A campaign with a 2-0 home win over Parma on Sunday, sealed by debutant Jonathan David's opener and a late tap-in from Dusan Vlahovic. There were few chances for either side in the first half and Juve's Francisco Conceicao went closest early on with a diving header that forced Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki into a full-stretch save to keep it out.
