The Ottawa Senators ’ week took another difficult turn with confirmation that captain Brady Tkachuk will be sidelined far longer than initially expected. The 26-year-old underwent surgery on his right thumb Thursday, and the team announced he will miss between six and eight weeks.

It may be early in the season, but the Ottawa Senators can’t afford to fall back into bad habits. With a 2-4-0 record the Senators are less than thrilled with the first 10 days of their season.
