The Black Hawk Bridge, a vital link between Iowa and Wisconsin, will be demolished, with a new bridge expected by 2027 and ferry service planned as a temporary solution.

The bridge, which connects Wisconsin and Lansing, Iowa on WI 82/IA 9 over the Mississippi River, is set to be demolished and rebuilt.

To assist travelers during the closure, a free car ferry service will begin in early November.
