The bridge, which connects Wisconsin and Lansing, Iowa on WI 82/IA 9 over the Mississippi River, is set to be demolished and rebuilt.
To assist travelers during the closure, a free car ferry service will begin in early November. Iowa DOT Director Scott Marler expressed gratitude for the swift approvals from federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the city of Lansing, which enabled the setup of the ferry service.
