The course of Kansas politics will be shaped for years to come by the decisions voters will make in 2026, from selecting a new governor to weighing Republican lawmakers’ proposal for overhauling how Kansas Supreme Court justices are chosen.

Democrat Chris Mann outraised Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach in 2025, but Kobach had more cash on hand going into 2026.

Kansas Rep. Pat Proctor, R-Leavenworth, is the clear frontrunner in campaign contributions as of the January filing deadline. Newly released campaign finance reports filed with the Kansas Public Disclosure Commission show which candidates are leading in fundraising. The reports cover all contributions and spending in 2025.

GOP governor candidate Scott Schwab attracted $1.3 million in donations in 2025, while Democratic candidate Ethan Corson took in $900,000 in that period.
