The upcoming release of Sonic X Shadow Generations will play a significant role in truly cementing 2024 as the Year of Shadow.

Before Shadow the Hedgehog debuted in Sonic 3, the Ultimate Lifeform graced screens with the Blue Blur in 2003’s Sonic X.

Shadow’s addition to the already beloved Sonic platformer has made it a much-anticipated release. However, we also got Iizuka’s take on remasters and the possibility of a Sonic Adventure 2 Remake.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 brings Shadow the Hedgehog into the franchise properly, adapting his video game origin, powers, and more in the process.

While Shadow's introduction to the Sonic franchise is a bit dark, his next few chapters might undo any hopes of an on-screen spinoff.
