The Pittsburgh Steelers have released running back Lew Nichols, who became a preseason sensation for the team. Nichols was signed after some injuries racked up in the running back room in July, and he quickly made his name known during the team’s preseason games.

The Steelers announced Friday the organization released 11 players the day after their preseason concluded. The list of offensive players released included quarterback Logan Woodside, running back Evan Hull, tight end Kevin Foelsch, guard Doug Nester, and tackle Julian Pearl.
