An Illinois woman is $1 million richer after winning on a lottery ticket she forgot about. During a grocery trip to the Jewel-Osco supermarket in Elmhurst in October, she made the last-minute decision to pick up a lottery ticket for the Lucky Day Lotto, a daily draw game in Illinois. The ticket was set for an evening drawing on October 20.

EASTON — Family First Trust of Cumberland, Rhode Island, claimed a $1 million lottery prize on Nov. 8 after purchasing the winning ticket in Easton, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission.

Gail Riola, 67, of North Port, won $1 million on a 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game, the Florida Lottery said in a Nov. 13 news release. She bought the lucky ticket at the RaceTrac on Tamiami Trail in North Port, officials said. The gas station received a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
