England’s crushing defeat at Edgbaston has exposed deep flaws in their Bazball style of play, which they must address before the start of the next Test match at Lord’s. Ben Stokes is also under pressure after failing to perform with the bat yet again.

India's win at Edgbaston is also the first time they have levelled a series in England immediately after losing the first Test. They had lost the first Test on 13 previous series in England and went on to lose the second in six and draw it in seven.

Akash Deep took six wickets as India crushed England by 336 runs to level the series at 1-1 on Sunday after they bowled out the hosts for 271 to claim their first test victory at Edgbaston and Shubman Gill's first win as captain.
