Microsoft is quietly retiring its Paint 3D Windows app. The app, which was launched in 2016, will no longer receive updates and will be removed from the Microsoft Store on November 4.

Microsoft announced that the Paint 3D graphics app will be discontinued later this year and removed from the Microsoft Store in November.

That didn't last long. By 2021, 3D Viewer and Paint 3D were removed from the default app install list on Windows 10, meaning you had to install it from the store.

Paint 3D's impending demise was revealed through a banner that appears for some people in the app itself. But if you're a fan, there is some good news.

But the old Paint app's renaissance is coming at the expense of Paint 3D, which Microsoft says is formally being deprecated and removed from the Microsoft Store on November 4.
