Federal authorities have busted what they say is a $30 million fraud conspiracy involving billing for children's behavioral health services that were never provided, officials announced.

The president is claiming without evidence that the lengthy counting process in California, which could help determine control of Congress, means Democrats are stealing the election.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Bob Latta introduced legislation Wednesday that would require states to annually report their efforts to detect and prevent fraud in Medicaid home and community-based services programs.

The U.S. Department of Justice tells CBS News it will speed up review of certain whistleblower complaints dealing with fraud against benefits programs like Medicare.

About 90 such investigations are currently open, a Justice Department official told prosecutors. The tally offers a glimpse inside the scale of the administration’s efforts.

The Department of Justice announced that it had convicted six people in the past three weeks on healthcare fraud charges, for about $1.1 billion.
