A military aide accidentally deployed the emergency slide on the new Air Force One on Wednesday, according to a person familiar with the episode.

WASHINGTON, Sept 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump departed Washington for Texas on Wednesday aboard the Air Force One plane gifted by Qatar after an emergency slide deployed and was removed.

The mistake happened while the Qatari-donated jet was parked on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews. It delayed President Trump’s departure to a Republican convention in Dallas.
