It helped that Toronto right-hander Kevin Gausman imploded in a six-run third, as the Yankees pulled away for an 11-2 victory in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader in The Bronx. The Yankees trailed 1-0 entering the bottom of the third, but drew five walks and got a three-run double from Austin Wells.

Judge’s solo shot to right-center field in the bottom of the sixth broke a 1-1 tie with Toronto, the swing that sparked a late rally in a 5-1 win, the Yankees’ second victory of the day. The Yankees crushed the Jays in Game 1 earlier in the afternoon, an 11-2 blowout.

The Yankees punished Kevin Gausman with patience. Oswaldo Cabrera drew a walk. So did Ben Rice. And so did Paul Goldschmidt, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Anthony Volpe.

The Orioles were swept over the weekend by Detroit in Motown losing the three games by a combined score of 17-5. Gunnar Henderson is showing signs of breaking out of his season-opening funk. The shortstop went 4-13 in the series.
