Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hits his 5th homer of the 2025 playoffs to pass José Bautista for the most by a Blue Jay in a single postseason
Guerrero batted .529 in the series (9-for-17) with three home runs, nine RBIs before he trolled the Bombers by saying, “Daaaaaaa Yankees lose!” on the FS1 postgame show.
The Guerreros join a list that includes Bobby and Barry Bonds as some of the most accomplished father-and-son MLB duos.
David Ortiz and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Troll Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez with ‘YANKEES LOSE’ Chant
David Ortiz and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. were joyously celebrating the Toronto Blue Jays' win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday, Oct. 8, chanting 'DAAAAAA YANKEES LOSE' in front of former Yankees Derek Jeter and Alexander Rodriguez.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider had the thought as his team boarded the 2,500-mile flight from Toronto to Seattle on Monday night, following losses in the first two games of the American League Championship Series against the Mariners.
In the FS1 postgame show after the Blue Jays’ 13-4 win, Yankees legend Derek Jeter asked Guerrero the question everyone was thinking. “The question I have for you, man,” Jeter began, via Instagram. “In the history of the sport, there has been one cycle in the postseason. How come you stopped at second base, man?”
The two Championship Series could not be more different. The reigning World Series champion Dodgers have stifled the MLB-best Brewers in the NLCS, holding them to three runs in three games en route to a 3-0 series lead. In the ALCS, the Blue Jays and Mariners have traded body blows, with the road team winning all four games. That's a 2-2 series.
The beast has awoken. It took two duds and a trip to the West Coast, but the Vladimir Guerrero Jr. who booted the Yankees from the postseason and blew them a kiss is back. He’s the Mariners’ problem now.
