Progress report on Tropical Storm Jerry: Tuesday, Oct 7 update from the NHC

The National Hurricane Center's 11 p.m. Tuesday advisory reported that Tropical Storm Jerry is in the Atlantic Ocean, 1,030 miles east-southeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. Packing maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, the system is tracking to the west-northwest at 23 mph.

Tropical Storm Jerry Chances Surge

Meteorologist Jim Cantore said on X, Tuesday: “If 95L is going to shine now is the time. It's a large area of showers and thunderstorms that looks much more robust than 24 hours ago. Most guidance keeps it north of the Leeward Islands and just like the most prominent storms this year hooks it north then northeast."
