Prosecutors said the network created by 22-year-old Ethan Foltz is "one of the most sophisticated and powerful DDoS-for-hire Botnets currently in existence."

An Oregon man was charged in a federal complaint on Tuesday for allegedly leading large-scale cyberattacks across dozens of countries.

Authorities charged Ethan Foltz, 22, with one count of aiding and abetting computer intrusions. Police executed a search warrant at Foltz’s house on Aug. 6, shut down the botnet and took control of its infrastructure, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
