House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) responded to a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter's threat to kill the House Democratic leader by saying that violence was "triggered" by the recent No Kings protests opposing President Donald Trump.

Apparently, a peaceful protest is just as bad as—or worse than—a threat on a Democrat’s life, per the House speaker.

Mike Johnson was right. This is terrifying and has no place at peaceful, nationwide protests against Trump's authoritarianism.
