CHAMPAIGN — A slow first half derailed No. 17 Illinois in a 34-16 loss to No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday at Gies Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes jetted out to a 20-0 lead in the late stages of the first half, with field goal from David Olano just south of halftime sending the Illini into the locker room with a 17-point deficit.
