The Chicago White Sox on Thursday formally announced Ryan Fuller as director of hitting. He will oversee all aspects of hitting throughout the organization.

As trade rumors continue to swirl around White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet, the Red Sox, Dodgers and Orioles have emerged as his most likely suitors.

Sox GM Chris Getz said at the general managers last week that Fuller would be taking the position, a supervising role not unlike Brian Bannister’s as director of pitching. Fuller will oversee all aspects of hitting throughout the organization and will work closely with minor league hitting coaches,
