Beautiful beach and plenty of room for everyone! Young kids enjoyed the water and older folks liked walking the beach to look for treasures! $15/car load for out-of-towners and a mile walk to the bea… Full review by vajmugrl

We did this and Calvert Cliffs and MUCH preferred this park! We went twice and got there right as it opened. As Virginians, we had to pay $15 which was a bit steep but the sea glass and shark teeth f… Full review by Coastal791507

Can the trip from car to beach be done in a wheelchair? Is it accessible?

There is a gravel road/path that leads to the beach which is wide and flat enough for a wheel chair. I believe there is also handicapped parking closer than from the regular car park.

One detail to add to Jamie's answer: the 10-15 minute walk from the beach back to the parking area is fairly steep, so plan your load accordingly. That said, Flag Ponds is the most attractive public beach in Calvert County. It offers a range of nature trails in addition to the beach. If you want a minimal walk from car to beach try Breezy Point instead (about 15 miles north of Flag Ponds).

That doesn't make any sense, I was just there this past Friday and Saturday. Friday it was free to get in Saturday I had to pay $3. The only part that I know it's closed is Breezy Point …
